About Our Chapter
Our Families
We have over 1,200 Host Families currently serving in the Chicagoland area and thousands of additional volunteers who help by providing support to parents such as transportation, mentoring, and help finding work, as well as other volunteers who provide much-needed tangible items such as car seats, clothes, and mattresses.
If you would like to participate as a Host Family, Family Friend, or Resource Friend, contact us here.
Our Churches
Chicagoland churches play a significant role in recruiting and supporting their people to serve and reaching out to parents who are in a crisis situation. We have over 90 churches who are involved as Partner, Lead, or Community Lead Churches. If you would like your church to participate in Safe Families please let us know.
Churches of all sizes and various denominational and nondenominational backgrounds are active partners with SFFC in Chicago. Our volunteers come from “megachurches” as well as smaller neighborhood congregations. More and more churches are awakening to the urgent need of struggling families now as the most viable way to impact the future of the Chicagoland.
If you want to get your church involved, contact us here.

Our Team
The engine behind Safe Families is our faith communities and their volunteers. Our volunteers are a priceless resource bringing transforming support to Chicago area families in difficult life situations. While Chicago has often been called the “City of Big Shoulders,” our churches and volunteers show another side: the “City of Big Hearts.” There is also a number of staff who passionately invest their lives in growing the movement of Safe Families. Their work includes engaging churches, building the base of volunteers, transitioning children, family coach supervision, vetting and training volunteers, walking along side parents in crisis and helping them to find the resource referrals they need, and so much more.
